Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, officially inaugurated the Rinjani Color Run 3, an event held in Sembalun, East Lombok Regency, on Sunday, August 24. The event was attended by acting NTB Regional Secretary, Lalu Moh. Faozal, East Lombok Regional Secretary, Juaini Taofik, as well as several leaders from the ANTARA News Agency.
In his address, the Governor expressed his delight and appreciation for the consistent organization of the event, noting that the Rinjani Color Run has become a much-anticipated agenda that will continue to be developed. “I am very happy to be here. The Rinjani Color Run has proven its worth year after year and continues to thrive. We hope it will become an annual event that we will expand,” he stated.
The Governor also highlighted the event as a good preliminary exercise for runners preparing for larger international competitions, such as the Pocari Sweat Run Lombok 2025, scheduled for September 13-14 in Mandalika. He encouraged participants to enjoy the running experience while taking in the fresh air and scenic beauty of Sembalun. “This is more of a Fun Run so that friends can run while enjoying the fresh air and scenery in Sembalun. Don’t forget to take pictures and post them on social media to promote Sembalun,” he advised.
Furthermore, the Governor revealed plans to develop Sembalun into a premier sports tourism destination through a series of ongoing events. “God willing, our hope for the future is to create the Sembalun Series of Activities, featuring events from January to December held in Sembalun. The Rinjani Color Run will become a flagship event we host in Sembalun,” he explained.
The Governor also extended gratitude to ANTARA for their continuous efforts in organizing the event annually. “I thank ANTARA NTB for their steadfast commitment to holding the Rinjani Color Run each year, despite challenges. God willing, next year will be even better, and the Provincial Government as well as East Lombok Regency Government will provide greater support in the coming years,” he concluded.
